i have to write a separate, tragic post about how we are like 90% through the school year and this schedule has still not gotten comfortable for me — or pretty much anyone else in the house. these early mornings are ridiculous, y’all. it’s felt like another rough week of rushing around, always being late for everything and of course, always forgetting some vital element (a laptop, a soccer ball, my senses . . . ). this morning in fact, as i pulled into my parking garage at a totally respectable 9:12, feeling like a rock star, the school nurse called. an hour and a half later, i rolled into work with a rashy/ughy Miss Girl (again). is there any such thing as a normal day? apparently not. all that said, i’m craving some mindless relaxation this weekend. here are the favorite things i’m looking forward to this Friday night. hope y’all get some mindlessness this weekend, too!
sleeping in instead of soccer
i’m the worst mom in the world. is it wrong that i’m praying for it to start pouring rain overnight so that we won’t have to drag our asses out of bed in the morning to be on the soccer field (across town) by 8:30? do y’all know that since the time has changed, the sun doesn’t even come up in Atlanta until 7:50 a.m.? true story. everything about early morning waking lately is wrong. especially, especially on a Saturday.
i know. so trashy. and so good. totally not ashamed to admit i have been counting down the days until the second season starts on Monday. you know you are, too!
totally related to work (swear), i have lately spent a lot of time on express.com. i am in love with these 2 pairs of sandals, but just can’t bring myself to pay full price! there seem to be deals every week, so i’m about to jump on one of ’em, but it has definitely been a slow burn. these both will be so cute all summer . . .
back to basics this evening, while i write with a little of what had become (for a long while) the house white. and now i remember why it was. the Cupcake is a totally solid $10 NZ Sauv Blanc. lovely and crisp. perfect for a Friday, or any day.
